The trip itinerary, as well as a page dedicated to each hotel stay, give a sense of place and lay the groundwork for all of the details that follow.

This book is a great example of the power of “The 3 C’s of Photography” that I learned from my friend, Elizabeth Dillow.  As my client travelled to 3 different locations on this trip, she captured all 3 C’s – allowing me to easily design a book that tells the rich story of this family trip.

1. Context: the photos that set the stage or establish the setting
2. Characters: the people/relationship shots that make the context meaningful
3. Close-ups: the details, the color commentary, the zoomed-in perspective of the elements of any given story

Keep the 3 C’s in mind as you travel this year – perhaps 3 photos will be all you need to tell your story and keep your phone and hard drive from overloading!
