What Spring Looks Like

Every spring the kids and I head down to Palm SPRINGS for a long weekend to visit my folks who are escaping the Midwest winter.  It has become a much anticipated trip and every year the traditions grow.  Hooray for traditions!

Hike-1

One of my goals for this visit was to capture some pictures of me with my parents.  I have noticed that while I have tons of pictures of them with the grandkids, as is often the case, not many with me in them.  Before heading out to our favorite Mexican restaurant one night, we stopped by the little gem that is the Ace Hotel.  I hauled out the tripod and we had some fun!

Palm Springs

I’m so happy to have these images, and grateful my parents support all of my silly efforts to document our life together!  Of course I also documented a few other moments from the weekend – here are some iPhone/ Instagram shots that tell a little story of our time in Palm Springs…

Palm Springs Squares

This is month four of my “What … Looks Like” photography challenge.  You can read more about this project here and be sure check out what spring looks like around the country, beginning with Karen Porter in Austin, Texas!

Suzanne, these are so colorful and happy! Just as I would hope for anyone’s spring. And I love that you incorporated so much of your family too! These all are just lovely, each one tells a story and compliments the others. Also really love the collage to finish it off. =)

and this so clearly shows that it’s not the camera but the photographer. while i liked the larger ones presented (the first one in particular) those instagram ones were fantastic. they have a strong individuality about them that together tells the story in an artistic way. you make me want to take more pictures with my phone! LOVE

When I look at those images I feel joy and they bring smile to my face. So great that you were able to have some pictures taken with your parents. It’s so important to be in those pictures too.

Wow! There are so many fabulous shots here it is hard for me to decide on my favorites. I love the one of your parents walking with your kids and the one of your feet. The colors in all of these are beautiful! I am really impressed with all of the instagram shots though. That one of the clouds and the one with you underwater is amazing. I really enjoyed looking at all of your image this month.
