What Winter Looks Like

I am really excited about this new personal project I am starting for 2013 called “What …. Looks Like”.  Joining me on this journey is a group of talented photographers from all over the US.  Every month we will have a new theme that we will interpret through our photographs.  Projects like this help us grow as photographers, while at the same time, document our lives as they are in this moment.  I will post my pictures here each month.  I will also post a link to another photographer’s blog…follow the links and by the end you will see “What …. Looks Like” for many different women across the country!

To start us out, we are looking at “What Winter Looks Like”.  Of all the winter photos I have taken this month, this is the one that speaks to me.  It sums it all up.  Winter for us is family time, skiing, and the beauty of the mountains.

It is getting away from our daily routines and creating space for family time.

It is playing board games and roasting marshmellows by the fire…

it is spending quality time with my best friend…

all set against the most beautiful backdrop I could imagine…

Now be sure to head over to Tiffany Anderson’s blog to see her take on this month’s theme.

WOW, so jealous of your winters! We got three inches which melted away in two hours, and it was the highlight of the winter in Alabama!
    Beautiful images!

i admire that you were selective in choosing ones that highlight your time together. the color is subtle yet strong, the motion moving yet still, the vignette a little slice of your view. and those marshmallows make me want a smore! i get a sense of who you are, what this time means to you. there is a definitive feeling of family here and how winter is for you.
